Glykeria is Greece's most important female singer who has carved a significant career not only in Greece but Israel, France, Turkey and England. Her career has spanned over 30 years and is marked by multi gold and platinum releases.

Glykeria began in 1974 in the Athens' Plaka boites (nightclubs, cabarets) where she distinguished herself by adding a unique interpretation to songs by composers like Hadjidakis, Theodorakis and Loizos. She released her first album alongside another rising artist Giorgos Gerolymatos called "Min Kaneis Oneira" in 1978. She released her first solo album, Ta Smyrneika, traditional songs from Asia Minor in the 1980s which caused a stir in the industry, showcasing Glykeria's unique voice to the nation. Glykeria gained momentum and fans and in 1982 represented Greece in the Europalia '82 festival in Brussels, together with Sotiria Bellou, George Dalaras and Margarita Zorbala. She became the most loved Greek singer in Israel and a major part of Israel's cultural scene in the 90s. Her special style full of depth, melancholy and endless emotion captured the heart of the Israelis, and her songs, both in Hebrew (with perfect pronunciation) and Greek became all-time classics.

The rest is history and Glykeria is now a musical superstar performing across Europe, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Cyprus, Israel and Turkey.
